TEHRAN For the first time in Iran, surgery of malignant skin cancers will be carried out by Iranian physicians, said Yahya Dolati, head of Dermatologist Union here yesterday.
Malignant skin cancer will be treated inside the country from now on, he added.
Dolati said prolonged exposure to sunlight, genetic characteristics, some skin diseases, chain-smoking, exposure to some chemical materials, chronic burns as well as drinking water polluted by arsenic are among the main causes of different skin cancers.
He further said that the first surgery of malignant skin cancer will be done in Iran simultaneously with the fifth conference to be held on skin diseases and plastic surgery.
The conference will be held September 17 through 20 in Tehran's Imam Khomeini Hospital.
